1.Lossy Compression :
- In Lossy compression,some loss of information also acceptable during the compression.
- Lossy compression mainly focus on the reducing the size of file.
Advantages :
- Size of the file is reduced.
- Easy to transfer the file over the internet.
- Reduce the time taken to transfer.
Disadvantages :
- Image will loss the quality and clarity.
- It is impossible to retain the quality when we do decompression also.
2.Lossless Compression :
- In Lossless compression reduce the size of a file with out loss of the useful information from the file.
- Lossless compression mainly focus on the quality of the file after that only size file.
- In Lossless compression,data remains same when decompress the file at receiver side.
Advantages :
- Quality of image is same like original file.
Disadvantages :
- It will reduce the less amount of file size .
- Because of size of a file it will take to much time for transferring the file from one place to the other places.
